Moving Between Builders: WebsiteBuilder to WordPress
Planning to switch from WebsiteBuilder to WordPress?
There is no automated tool to migrate your website if you are moving from WebsiteBuilder to WordPress. However, you can move your website content manually. We have outlined the critical steps which will allow you to move your site. We encourage you to take this opportunity to update your site content as you rebuild it and take advantage of the many features WordPress offers.
Here are the things that you must perform before the move:
- Save all your site's written content in text files.
- Three ways to extract your website's text content
- Access the web page with the text you want to save. Right-click and select the "Save as" or "Save Page As" option. Choose "Web Page, HTML only" from the Save as Type drop-down menu, name the file, then click "Save."
- Access the web page with the text you want to save. Right-click and select the "Save as" or "Save Page As" option. From the Save as Type drop-down menu, choose "Text Files." Name the text file and click "Save."
- Click and drag to highlight the text on the web page you want to extract, then press "Ctrl-C" to copy the text content. Open a document program or text editor and press "Ctrl-V" to paste the text into the text file or document program. Save the file to your computer.

- Save screenshots of your existing site.
- Take note of the essential information on your website, such as:
- Number of pages
- Menu structure
- Page layouts
- Image layouts and captions
- Contact forms
- Typography styles (fonts)
- Colors
- Links
