How to Purchase and Install EV/OV SSL Certificate in Control Panel
Securing your website with an Extended Validation (EV) or Organization Validation (OV) SSL certificate is crucial for ensuring trust and security for your users. This article provides step-by-step guidance on purchasing and installing EV/OV SSL certificates through your control panel.
Steps to Purchase and Install EV/OV SSL Certificate:

Login to Your Control Panel: Access your control panel and navigate to the SSL section.

Select SSL Domain and Purchase Certificate: Choose your SSL domain and proceed to purchase the EV/OV SSL certificate.

Navigate to SSL Page: After purchasing, an example is: https://www.Netfirms.com/controlpanel/foundation/<insert your domain>/ssl/plans

Apply for SSL Certificate/Credit: Apply your purchased SSL certificate or a credit on the SSL page.

Validation Email Setup: Upon applying, a forward using the email address "[email protected]" will be created. This email will send an SSL validation email to your administrative email address for approval.
Validation Process For the OV and EV SSL:
- DNS Records Handling: If your domain's DNS records (Nameserver (NS) records, A record, MX record) are not managed by us, create a 'hostmaster' email address (e.g., hostmaster@<your domain>) with your external domain email service provider. Notify us so we can resend the SSL validation email to approve it on your end. OV SSL will be installed within 24 hours upon approval. For EV SSL, follow up with Sectigo as per Step 5.
- For OV SSL: Once the SSL validation email is approved, the certificate will be installed and activated within 24 hours.
- For EV SSL: Upon email approval, you'll receive instructions from Sectigo to submit the required documents. Follow Sectigo's instructions and submit the necessary information. Sectigo will review the documents and issue an EV SSL certificate within approximately 10 days. Once it's been issued, please let us know to proceed with the installation.
- Installation Completion Steps: Upon successful completion of validation, we will install or renew your SSL certificate.
